Publisher's Book Description

“Maggie inherited a gift from her time-crossing parents that allows her to live three separate lives in 1861, 1941, and 2001. Each night, she goes to sleep in one time period and wakes up in another. Until she turns twenty-one, when she will have to forfeit two of those lives--and everyone she knows in them--forever.

In 1861, Maggie is the daughter of a senator at the outbreak of the Civil War, navigating a capital full of Southern spies and wounded soldiers. In 1941, she is a navy nurse, grappling with her knowledge of the future when she joins a hospital ship going to Pearl Harbor. And in 2001, she's a brilliant young medical student, fulfilling her dream of becoming a surgeon.

While Maggie has sworn off romance until she makes her final choice, an intriguing man tugs at her heart in each era, only complicating the impossible decision she must make, which looms ever closer. With so much on the line, how can Maggie choose just one life to keep and the rest to lose?”

My Review

In This Moment, by Gabrielle Meyers, is the second book in the Timeless series, and it is an exceptionally captivating book from the first page to the last. Events in 1861, 1941, and 2001 are woven together beautifully to create a tri-timeline story that is simply riveting. Unique time travel twists, history, and romance are thoughtfully intertwined in this well-researched novel. With excellent pacing and immersive descriptions, important details are carefully revealed and truths are uncovered as the story reaches its dramatic conclusion.

In the face of dangerous circumstances and daunting secrets, the main character in this novel displays an inner strength and determination that is profoundly inspiring. As she struggles with fear, loss, decision-making, and uncertainty, she manages to cling to faith and hope while striving to discover her purpose and follow her heart’s desires. Furthermore, in the dim light of difficult choices and genuine tragedies, profound themes of perseverance, justice, courage, sacrifice, and love shine brightly as beacons of hope and encouragement.

In This Moment is an incredibly fascinating and moving novel. The intermingling timelines are extremely compelling, the characters are unforgettable, and the themes are truly relevant. It is certainly an emotionally-stirring and thought-provoking book. This novel is well-written, engaging, and altogether memorable. I recommend this special book most sincerely.
