My Review
Enamored is a stunning addition to Jody Hedlund’s YA collection. Full of intrigue, peril, destiny, and heart, this riveting novel is a wonderful start to the promising Knights of Brethren book series. Truly immersive and utterly detailed, Enamored abounds with adventure, drama, and romance.
With characters and settings that are truly compelling and descriptively engaging, Enamored is an utterly captivating and creative retelling of the medieval Excalibur story. As the threads of the story are woven together with expertise and originality, meaningful twists and surprises are revealed ensuring that this novel is refreshingly clever and utterly enjoyable. Even when deadly battlefields, scheming enemies, dragon-like creatures, sinister plots, and a royal crisis jeopardize their goals, the main characters persevere with integrity and determination. Using wisdom and faith, they show themselves to be courageous, selfless, and honorable.
Author Jody Hedlund is especially talented at crafting stories that are rich in lore and legend. From the first page to the last, this novel is imaginative and charming. With tremendous talent and thoughtfulness, Ms. Hedlund has written a story that is genuinely special and appealing. Enamored is a joy to read, and I recommend it wholeheartedly to readers of all ages.
