My Review

The Heart of Splendid Lake, by Amy Clipston, is a special novel that features a satisfying blend of touching drama, genuine emotion, and sweet romance. Page after page, this novel offers a contemporary story of friendship, family, new beginnings, and unexpected possibilities. 


A charming lake-front property in a small town in North Carolina, provides the ideal setting for a story of love, loss, and hope. Featuring appealing characters, an engaging plot, and significant themes, this novel is memorable and moving. The well-developed characters are authentic and compelling. As they face heartache, fear, and uncertainty, they risk vulnerability, honesty, and trust in order to save what they hold dear. With perseverance and determination, they endeavor to overcome great difficulties in order to find healing and wholeness. From beginning to end, this book offers an entertaining story that graciously and effectively explores friendship, family, purpose, and commitment. As these themes are developed throughout the novel, the story becomes especially meaningful and inspiring.


A skilled writer of fiction, Ms. Clipston always succeeds in crafting stories that are thoughtful and enjoyable. Like all of Ms. Clipston’s novels, The Heart of Splendid Lake  offers an entertaining story that is relevant and well-written. It is a truly irresistible novel that is worthwhile and uplifting. I gladly recommend it.

About the Author: Amy Clipston

“Amy Clipston has been writing for as long as she can remember. Her fiction writing "career" began in elementary school when she and a close friend wrote and shared silly stories. She has a degree in communications from Virginia Wesleyan College and is a member of the Authors Guild, American Christian Fiction Writers, and Romance Writers of America.
