My Review
A Noble Scheme, by Roseanna M. White, is the second book in The Imposters series. This historical fiction novel is incredibly well-written and truly compelling. This story is certainly intriguing, creative, and memorable. Page after page, a stunning blend of history, danger, mystery, and romantic tension make this book interesting, thoughtful, and utterly enjoyable.
With a genuine talent for detail and pacing, Ms. White has crafted a novel that flows beautifully and captivates with depth and meaning. Through integral settings, complex characters, and a gripping storyline, this book becomes something exceedingly special. Themes of forgiveness, family, perseverance, and faith provide significance and insight to a story that is altogether moving and inspiring.
Unfolding in England in the years before WWI, the story finds the characters navigating financial hardships, real loss, strained relationships, and actual peril. These trials stimulate the characters to rethink their assumptions and their goals for their futures. As they seek to live lives of purpose, they must also renew their hope and reexamine their faith. As the engage in meaningful moments and encounter surprising twists, the novel becomes even more touching and remarkable.
A Noble Scheme is engaging, thought-provoking, and a pleasure to read. It is a very worthy novel, and I recommend it wholeheartedly. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.
