My Review
Awakened, by Roseanna M. White, is the stunning first book in a new fantasy romance series. Magical gifts, mythical creatures, royalty, spies, and rebellion make this novel truly enchanting. Adventure, romance, and fantasy elements combine beautifully with vivid characters, clever settings, and enduring themes to make this story truly entertaining and memorable. With excellent world building, this book is creatively written, richly detailed, and quite compelling.
Shifting between scenes set on land and those taking place under the sea, it does not take long for this novel to become utterly captivating. As the story unfolds, the characters encounter surprising enemies, unforeseen allies, lethal dangers, and difficult choices that force them into unexpected acts of bravery and intuition. Even when challenged with complicated decisions, selflessness and integrity guide the characters as they endeavor to preserve hope, peace, and liberty for themselves and for those whom they hold dear.
Awakened is a touching, riveting, and unforgettable novel. With great skill, Ms. White has succeeded in creating a complex, fictional, fantasy world that is unexpected, alluring, and uniquely special. Throughout the novel, imaginative twists and thoughtful details help to create a story that is fascinating and satisfying. From beginning to end, this book is genuinely enjoyable, and I gladly recommend it. I am eagerly looking forward to reading the next book in the series.
